For a start, Keira Knightley at 'The Dutchess' premiere:

The dress is gorgeous (as usual) but I couldn't help thinking that the bottom bit of net would have looked better if it wasnt there!
And her shoes are to die for! Square toed patent courts.

She did a very funny interview with Sara Cox for Radio1 last week, here and part 2 here on Youtube.

I'm going to try and upload some new userpics..I'm putting them all here in my Photobucket and my past ones too.

LOVE Keira's summer dress:

This Keira desktop wallpaper

I sooo want a studio like this when I have my own house:

Its just beautiful, from Posy Get's Cosy in my links list>>>

And it looks like Miss Moss has been strutting her stuff down the catwalk again - ish:

Love all of this outfir - especially the belt.

I really am going to stop now..me and the bf have decided we're going to save save save for a flat, even if it does mean us looking like scanks. So this should be my last purchase post for some time :(

This Sekonda watch was just 50p at last weeks car boot!! Its got a black patent black strap and a small face which is exactly what I wanted. Its wind up too :)
The blue taffeta dress is from TK Maxx for £9, in their clearance..its got net underneath but I'm going to take that out as it makes it a bit too poofy. Im going to wear it next Wed when I'm going as Amy Winehouse to a fancy dress party!

This jumper was a charity shop find..i love grey and black stripes. It was about £4 and is Red Herring (debenhams?) I was going to give it to my brother but I've decided to keep it.
Now these trousers...they only cost £1 in the TK Maxx clearance and they're Roxy! They're black skinnys but only have a 25" waist and the legs sort of have a curve at the bottom :s They won't fit me but I might sell them on ebay this week. For a pound..i couldn't resist!

These were both bougth fromThe Works, the apron was £1.50 and the book 75p. I need another cheap apron for baking and this one is flowery! and the book was soo cheap and I think I might start a scrap book with it.
Trinny & Susannah book was 50p from last weeks carboot - they seemed to be on a lot of stalls for some reason.
Baking book was £1 from charity shop as was the cute Mates, Dates book.

This is my newest photo album that I made. It was an old music book I bought from Oxfam. I covered it with brown paper, put some cute images on the front, then bought some photo corners and stuck all my holiday snaps in! I'm really pleased with it..and have a feeling the more I do, the better they'll get. I've just got to get round to printing some of my Oz photos off now!

This is a lovellly address book I found for £2 in a charity shop. Its from the 70s and has really old pics of British towns in. I must put it to use!

Got this photo album from charity shop for £1.75 - will use for Oz pics.
The hat was an impulse buy at last weeks car boot, it was on next doors stall and its very cute - at £1..

I bought Pride and Predjudice (BBC version) for £1.50 from charity shop last week and this is now my growing list of DVDs:

- Pride & Predjudice £1.50 - charity shop
- Charlie and the Cocolate Factory £2 - car boot
- Spiderman - free - mom was going to sell
- Lord of the Rings - free - mom was going to sell
- The Patriot - free - mom was going to sell
- Hairspray - £3.50 - amazon
- The Libertine - £2 - car boot
- Atonement - £3.50 - amazon
- Love Actually - £1 - charity shop

(some not pictured as they're at the bf's)

And finally, my new trousers I bought for work last night on a late nigh food shop at Tesco. They're £15 but oh so worth it. They're high waisted and are a grey tweed fabric with a wide leg. They fit well on the bum too. Was contemplating whether to get a longer length and wear with heels but I don't hink that ever going to happen at work!

I also tidied my wardrobe up at last!! My clothes are now in sections of coats/ jackets, jumpers/ cardigans, skirts, trousers, shirts/ blouses, tops and dresses. VERY organised. In the picture, the bottom looks a bit of a mess but compared to what it was..its much better!

All for now

For this weeks car boot sale, I sold mostly cakes and has a sheet on the floor for all the old car boot junk. Here are some pics:

We didnt have a table cloth so we used brown paper and cut some triangular fringing. I cooked one victoria sponge which sold for £3 within a minute of me putting it on the table!! I also baked 5 batches of fairy cakes - mostly iced but ran out of icing sugar so sold some for a lower price just plain. I used chocolate buttons and sugar flowers to decorate.

I didn't make that much profit this week as I bought 2 cake baking tins..some paper bags for next time (which came in the post today!) and some floral doylies. But it was so much fun! I wore my Cath Kidston apron and even bougth a new hat and a watch for 50p! Will probably post pics of that at a later date. I only came back with 3 plain cakes too!

Next time I'm going to bake more sponges..more fairys and choc chip cookies! I can't wait. (I'm also thinking this is what I now want to do in the future..maybe start my own cake shop...The Cakery :) Its certainly food for thought!

28 August 2008 @ 10:16 pm
So last Sunday I got up at exactly 5.50am to do a car boot with one of my best buddies, Lisa. I love the atmosphere of them now...and the gems you find too. We sold the general stuff  - books and videos and junk..but my great idea was..to sell fairy cakes!!

And..they all sold! I wish I'd taken some pics but forgot the camera. I made plain ones with icing and dolly mixture on the top, choc chip ones, and raisin ones. The dolly mixture went first so I think I'll be just making those  this Saturday. I might make some cookies and kind of medium size sponges to sell at about £1.50. I sold the fairy cakes at 25p each. I think I made about £7 profit in the end on the cakes but still have some ingredients left over...so I'm aiming for more cakes this week at a bigger profit! Overall, made about £45!!

Anyway, enough about my business ventures for now..will take some photos this week of our cute stall.

I've been buying again....

Black Primark skirt £4.50 - it should have been £10..but i asked and lady said it was in sale at £5 and there should have been a white edged belt with it but it was missing so I got 10% off..didn't want the belt anyway!

An outfit I wore to my Dad's birthday bbq the other week..
old H&M black cardigan (which is now brown) £9.99,
Warehouse top (via Oxfam) £1.99
Topshop black skinny jeans (also now brown) £40
Primark gladiator sandals £10
Vintage bag 50p from car boot (see below)

And this leoapard jacket is the bargain of the week!! Its by Oasis and was only £3.99!! I saw it lying on Oxfams till counter in my size  and asked if it was sold. The guy said no, he was just pricing it up and so I snatched it (literally) and said I'll take it. It's similar to this current Oasis jacket so I am soo happy. I've been wanting one like this Kate Moss one..for about a year now:

This is a cute brown suede effect belt brought from Primrose Hospice for £1 - its hard to see but it has little plaited bits slong the front.
And finally, the black small bag from a car boot for 50p!

I've aslo gone DVD and book crazy again and have recently bought:

- The old Pride and Prejudice DVD £1.50 - Charity Shop
- Love Actually DVD - £1 - Primrose Hospice
- The Libertine DVD - £2 - Car boot
- Charlie and the Chocolate Factory DVD - £2 - Car boot
- And many many random books which I shall try and post a pic of soon.

There's a few more clothes I've bougth which are in the wash as I type so will post another time too.

So all in all, its been a very hectic week this week. We also went for a walk down the canal on Monday - which I sooo should have taken pics of because it was so so so pretty. Next time..next time.. i could even have used the bf's Nikon SLR :( ah well.

I'm going to shut up now and change the background of my blog to another Cath Kidston fabric :)

So the new range from Cath Kidston is out..and oh my...it is lovely (and expensive)..i think i shall just pine over these pics for a little longer...

Knitting Bag - although I havn't knitted in years..
GORGEOUS red oilcloth bag that would probably never use
And this leather beauty but at £95...i can dream..

Flower pin cushion
Floral felt needle case..may make a replica myself
Child's fingerless gloves ( if my hands were smaller)

I have seriously contemplated buying this kiddies cardigan for any future..ahem...plans :)
A thread tin, button tin and below, a pin tin..all very pretty but oh so expensive for what they are

I may be looking on ebay in the near future!

All for now

So I've finally got round to taking pics of recent bargains from car boot sales/ charity shops. I'm so pleased with all of them!!

This was £1.99 from Oxfam. Its Warehouse and is in perfect condition. I bought it to sell on ebay but think I might keep it for myself :) Its a very thin chiffony fabric with lace capped sleeves and lace along the bottom.

The first jumper was 40p from a Car Boot..its H&M and is a dark green - very snuggly
Checked shirt 50p from carboot - havn't decided what to wear this with yet, maybe black skinnys and a brown belt.

This is a Trader shirt (Debenhams) bought for £1.99 from Oxfam. I saw this and pounced on it before anyone else did i loved the floral pattern soo much. Havn't worn it yet. Need some grey trousers for work.

This was £2.99 from Oxfam and I'm going to turn it up so its a mini dress. I really loved the fabric - my size too!

Black ruffle blouse by Laura Ashley £1.99 from Oxfam again! This isnt my size but I'm going to sell it on ebay..its very very nice.

And finally this is what my boyfriend bought me for our 1 year anniversary - a Cath Kidston apron!! We're trying to put together a 'bottom drawer' of things for when we move in together, hopefully next year!!

This is another addition to my evergrowing Cath Kidston collection. So far I have:

- The apron
- Mini Sewing Kit
- Make-up bag
- Tote Bag
- Dressing Gown
- 4 tea cups
- 2 plates
- Tissues

I think thats it, I really want some of her clothes but faar too expensive at the moment.

The bf also bought me tickets to go see Lee Evans in October!! I was sooo happy!!!!! Can't wait to see him live.
Its my Dad's 50th bday party today - I've got to go and make a cake and help prepare..oh the fun. Would have liked to pop into Bromsgrove and have a rummage throught the charity shops but not sure if I'll have time. Hopefull I'm going to the Redditch car boot tomorrow if the weather's good.

I really really do. At the moment, all my worldly possesions are in the loft..unreachable as I'm not allowed up there. I have the basics to live with and the things I've bougth over the past 2 months. But if I want to start drawing..or sewing..or reading..or anything that I've previously done in the past year or so, I can't.

Another reason I want my own abode is so that I can live with Christopher <3 and we can start buying furniture etc. It will be tough but I think it'll be worth it.

I di my first car boot on Sunday in years and it was brilliant! I'm now a ar boot addict..I'm hoping to do one every 2 weeks, I'm looking in charity shops, on swapitshop.com, and ebay for things to sell all the time. Even looking in the classifieeds in the local paper to see if anyone's selling job lots of clothes on the cheap. We made about £35 on Sunday which was a pretty good profit I thought. It was in my pocket all of 10minutes down the raod before it was spent buying my mom and her bf and me Sunday dinner at the pub!

It's also mine and Chris' 1 year anniversary tomorrow! I am very excited..he says he hasnt bought me anything but went shopping today and had a grin on his face :D I think we're going out for a meal and then he's stopping at mine. I'm still attempting to get him to take me to Oxford next Saturday.

On a different note, I had my forst driving lesson since February last week and I've got another one tomorrow. I was quite suprised at how easily I picked it up again, evryone said its like riding a bike - and they were right. My new driving instructor is lovely and I'm driving a brand new Mini with push button start - its very..technical. A far cry from my old Mini..which I went to get a quote on the insurance yesterday - but Ive decided to leave until I've passed my test..which is booked for the beginningof October - finally!

Its Dad's 50th today, just went round to give him his presents etc. that was all good, its his party on Saturday, I'm baking his cake!

That's all for now before I bore everyone to death - no clothes for a while apart from 2 bargains from Oxfam which shall try and post soon..havn't posted my carboot beauties yet. But definately no more buying of clothes for a while - I'm broke.

Looby xx
